Hi I was wondering will the script work if it is installed in the blogger side bar or does it have to be installed in the template, if it needs to be installed in the template then where in there should it be placed?

Hi evillure,

I`m not familiar with blogger. But as far as I know it should work when the code is placed in the sidebar.
You can always try it by placing the code there and then block your own ip-address.

If the doesn`t work try installing the code in the template as high as possible between the body-tags

Hi, I am also with blogger. I pasted the code in the template. but it does not seem to work. The logo is not showing up. I blocked my own IP address. Despite this, I can still access the site.

@martinfd,

could you please send me your website-url where you`re using our service/code on.
I would like to look in the source of your website to discover possible problems and maybe give some advice.

Hi Martin, thank you for your help, it is much appreciated !

I have made the correction. The code is where I have inserted other items. The IP logo is now visible. I blocked my own IP address but I can still access my site.

Do you have any idea about what could be wrong?

Many thanks!

On blogger blogs, the script should be placed in the Sidebar, as any other HTML/JavaScript widget. I test it and everything was OK.

I also posted the code in the template where you would add html codes in blogger. For a day and a half it worked great. Now I am able to access my own blog. I am no longer blocked. It worked great to frustrate my "content stealing problem". I could see their numerous attempts to access my blog with StatCounter, but they are due back and I don't want this person to realize they can get back into my blog.
My IP Blocker logo looks great, but IP addresses are no longer blocked!
If any code is entered into the source code blogger will not save it. If it's entered into the template it will either not allow the addition or it will only display the code itself. Adding the code into template >> add a gadget>>add HTML is the only place the code can be entered.
Has anyone else experienced this relapse in IP address blocking and overcome the blogger issues?

Thanks for your help.

Works okay for me. Then again, I'm still using the old blogger template for my blogs.

Hi,

Trying to use the code on my blogger account as well.

Tried putting it in the HTML of the page to no avail - generates the following error

Quote
Your template could not be parsed as it is not well-formed. Please make sure all XML elements are closed properly.
XML error message: The markup in the document following the root element must be well-formed.

Tried to put it in the HTML sidebar widget again to no avail - it won't save without correcting the errors in the code!

This is the code I am using as generated by the site:

Quote
<!-- Begin IP-Blocker Code --><script src="http://www.toolator.com/ban/banned/?member=superchan" type="text/javascript" /></script><!-- End Ip-Blocker Code-->

HELP! Desperately need to block a particular person!

Just delete one (html or sidebar) and then take a look at the frontpage of your website and see if our ip-address blocker logo is shown somewhere. If yes, everything is working fine. If not, delete the other one and replace the first deleted one.

thanks ... that would be the logical approach but both are showing so both are working?

I have just left both .. no harm no foul in doing so for the moment.

Thanks for the prompt help!

@superchan,

it`s no problem you`re using/pasting the code twice.
But only the highest placed coded (nearest to the <body>-tag) will have an effect.

actually I have them as suggested above in the HTML widget for the blog so they both show the logo thingy in the sidebar. Am assuming one or both work.

Haven't tried placing them in the HTML - my stat counter is also in the widget and works fine so I am assuming this does too without going through the PT of checking it.

PS Do you have any idea if statcounter should show the redirect if it's working?

If you`ve pasted our code above the stat-counter, the stat-counter probably won`t register the banned ip.

If you paste our code below the stat-counter then the stat-counter will also register the blocked ip.

I can answer that one Brujito.... see the reply above .. they will still show on your statcounter if the toolator code is BELOW your statcounter code.
